Battlerusa picks areas best bands

The Battlerusa Battleship landed in Fayetteville and Tulsa late last month and selected two of the area's finest bands to move on to perform at the Wakarusa Camping and Music Festival, to be held June 8-11, 2006, at the Clinton Lake State Park near Lawrence, KS.

Congratulations to Echobase for winning the close battle in Fayetteville, which also featured tough competition from Starroy and Sarah Hughes Band.

And a very big round of applause for Tulsa battle winners and Tahlequah natives, MY-TEA KIND! Harmonious Monk and the Slapnut Skillbillies gave considerable performances, but nothing could top the response from the Kind Crowd.

Battlerusa finals will be held February 9-10 at the Bottleneck in Lawrence, KS. Winner fo the final competition will be featured on the Wakarusa 2006 compilation album, will receive special "Waka" treatment at the festival and will be used in promotional materials for the Midwest's greatest festival.
